Library Borrowing Terms

By borrowing a book you agree to these terms. They keep the shelves fair for everyone.

Draft. Draft outline for the owner's legal review. Not yet legal advice. Borrowing gates on accepting these terms, so they must be finalised before the library launches.

Loan period

Books are lent for seven days. If no one else is waiting for the title, one renewal may be possible.

Late returns and lost books

A small daily fee applies to overdue books, capped so it never exceeds the book's price. A lost or badly damaged book is charged at its price plus a handling fee. Borrowing is paused while any fee is outstanding.

Looking after books

Please return books in the condition you borrowed them. Report damage rather than hiding it — we would always rather know.
